At Conseil Parent Elève Fédération Cornec, volunteer commitment is the engine of everything we achieve. We are an entirely volunteer-run organization—parents, grandparents, educators, and neighbors working shoulder-to-shoulder to enrich public school life and expand cultural opportunities for our village children.

Whether you can offer two hours a month to chaperone a library atelier, help build raised garden planters, bake a tarte for our annual fair, or bring specialized professional skills to our administrative council, your presence makes an immediate, tangible difference.

Field Excursion Chaperone & Logistics Aide

Commitment: 3–6 hours per term (flexible daytimes)

Accompany teachers and pupils on educational outings to museums, tidal ecology trails, nature reserves, and historical monuments. Assist with headcount verification, lunch distribution, and ensuring child safety.

Cultural Workshop & Artistic Facilitator

Commitment: 2 hours on alternate Saturday mornings

Support visiting artists or lead your own creative ateliers in woodworking, watercolor, pottery, traditional folk singing, or creative writing for small groups of eager young learners.

Eco-Garden Steward & Grounds Volunteer

Commitment: 1–2 hours weekly or monthly weekend bees

Assist in caring for the school's organic raised beds, fruit trees, and composting stations. Guide children in planting heirloom seeds, watering during hot spells, and harvesting seasonal crops.

Because our volunteers interact with children and represent public education in Trémeur, our association provides a supportive, structured, and safe volunteering framework. Every volunteer is recognized as an esteemed member of our educational team and benefits from clear onboarding protocols:

What We Provide to Every Volunteer:

  • Complete Insurance Coverage: Full civil liability and accidental injury insurance coverage through our institutional associative policy.
  • Support & Mentorship: Experienced parent organizers who provide clear briefing instructions, workshop kits, and guidance before every event.
  • Respect for Your Personal Time: You set your own commitment boundaries. There are no mandatory hour quotas; whether you volunteer once a year or every week, your contribution is honored.
  • Zero Out-of-Pocket Expenses: Approved materials, art supplies, or project tools are reimbursed upon presentation of receipts through our treasury.

What We Ask of Our Volunteers:

  • Child Protection & Respect: Adherence to French National Education child safeguarding standards, maintaining patient, encouraging, and protective conduct at all times.
  • Secular Neutrality: Respecting the strict secular (laïque) nature of public schooling by refraining from political proselytizing or religious advocacy.
  • Confidentiality: Protecting the privacy of pupils and families regarding academic evaluations or personal circumstances.
  • Reliability: Notifying coordinators promptly if you are unable to fulfill an agreed chaperone or workshop time slot.

Frequently Asked Questions About Volunteering in Trémeur

Do I need to be a parent of a currently enrolled pupil to volunteer?

No. While many volunteers are active parents, we warmly welcome retired teachers, local artisans, grandparents, and civic-minded community members who wish to share their knowledge and foster intergenerational solidarity in Trémeur.

What if I have never worked with children before?

No prior teaching experience is necessary. Most volunteer roles, such as preparing kermesse stalls, planting vegetables, or sorting library books, require only common sense, enthusiasm, and a willingness to help. For classroom activities, teachers always retain primary pedagogical authority.

Is there a membership fee required to volunteer?

No. Volunteering your time is completely free. If you wish to formally vote in the General Assembly, annual family membership dues are symbolic (10 to 15 euros), and full fee waivers are provided upon request. All membership fees and dues are fully reinvested in the association's public interest missions.
