Volunteer Engagement, Ethical Onboarding & Civic Opportunities

Lend your talents, time, and enthusiasm to our local public school community. Whether mentoring students in literacy, cultivating our bio-garden, or completing a French Civic Service mission, your contribution transforms lives.

Civic Dedication

Why Volunteer With Federation Cornec?

Volunteering is the beating heart of CONSEIL PARENT ELEVE FEDERATION CORNEC. Without the generous dedication of parents, retired professionals, and youthful civic volunteers, our workshops, study halls, and cultural visits could not exist.

We offer a welcoming, structured, and ethically grounded volunteering environment where every participant receives supportive onboarding, clear role definitions, and full insurance coverage under our associative civil liability policy.

In 2026, we are also officially certified to host French National Civic Service (Service Civique) assignments for young people aged 18 to 25. These 6-to-8 month missions provide accredited civic experience, personal mentorship, and a monthly state indemnity while carrying out public interest educational missions in our rural municipality.

Our Core Volunteer Ethos

All volunteer activities are undertaken strictly in the public interest, without remuneration, commercial profit, or private endorsement. We enforce strict adherence to child protection standards, secular neutrality, and respectful teamwork.

Code of Conduct

Our Formal Volunteer Ethics Charter

To maintain a safe, welcoming, and egalitarian educational environment, every volunteer pledges adherence to six fundamental civic commitments.

1. Secular Neutrality (Laïcité)

Volunteers maintain complete philosophical, religious, and political neutrality during all activities with students. The public school space belongs equally to all children regardless of family convictions.

2. Complementarity with Teaching Faculty

Volunteers do not replace certified national teachers. Our role is strictly complementary: reinforcing reading practice, providing attentive listening, and facilitating calm homework completion under faculty guidance.

3. Absolute Child Protection & Safety

Strict adherence to the two-adult rule in all school facilities. Volunteers never physically reprimand students, handle personal medical supplies without school nurse protocols, or take unauthorized photographs.

4. Confidentiality & Discretion

Any observations concerning a child's academic struggles, family situation, or personal behavior remain strictly confidential within the associative bureau and teaching team, protected from casual gossip.

"After retiring from secondary teaching in Dinan, I missed the energy of young learners. Joining the 'Lire Ensemble' reading circle in Trémeur allows me to give back to my rural village two afternoons a week. Watching a hesitant child read a whole storybook with pride is the greatest reward."

— Michel R., Volunteer Literacy Tutor since 2021

"Completing my Service Civique with Federation Cornec was transformative. I organized the permaculture bio-garden and helped kids set up an insect hotel. The experience solidified my ambition to pursue a master's degree in environmental education."

— Camille B., Former Service Civique Delegate (2024–2025)
